MUFY Talent Quest 2025: A Night of Talent and Celebration

The MUFY Talent Quest 2025, held on 12 September at Sir Jeffrey Cheah Hall, brought together an exciting showcase of creativity and performance. Featuring 16 acts—including soulful singing, energetic dancing, and a vibrant band performance—the event highlighted the rich diversity of talent within the MUFY community.

This year's distinguished judging panel included Mr. Lee Thye Cheong, Director of MUFY Sunway College KL, Mr. Amin Salmee, Programme Coordinator of the Sunway Foundation Programme, and Ms. Chia Yeng, Senior Lecturer of the Canadian International Matriculation Programme.

The competition culminated with Keju Joget comprising of Leong J-Ni, Joey Wong Yue Kei, Alyssa Chan Yern Tung, Chan Hui Yin, Cheah Kah Ern and Ranice Ooi Jing Yu, a dynamic dance group, being crowned Champions. Their electrifying routine wowed the audience and judges alike, securing them the grand prize of RM500. Adding to their success, they also clinched the People's Choice Award, earning an additional RM100.

Ekaterina Boikova, a contemporary dancer, impressed with a performance that combined grace and intensity, earning her the First Runner-Up title and RM400. Meanwhile, Amber and Yuu, a talented acoustic and vocal duo, charmed the hall with their harmonious act, claiming the Second Runner-Up spot along with RM300.

Adding a fresh twist to the evening, this year's programme introduced a special segment—“MUFY Lecturer's Got Talent”—where the audience had the chance to vote for their favourite lecturer performance. Contestants included vocalists Mr. Jonathan Moh and Ms. Angela Soyza, alongside a spirited dance trio of Ms. Roslin Mary, Ms. Tan Hui Shi, and Ms. Jessvin Kaur. Their upbeat routine to “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” by Shakira and “APT” by Rosé & Bruno Mars earned thunderous applause and secured the title of Best Lecturer Performance.

The MUFY Talent Quest 2025 was truly a night to remember—filled with creativity, passion, and unforgettable performances. Heartfelt congratulations go out to all the winners, and special thanks to the MUFY staff, Student Council, and volunteers whose hard work made the event a resounding success.
