SDS Graduation Ceremony 2025: Most Dynamic Cohort Yet
The Sunway Diploma Studies (SDS) Graduation Ceremony 2025 unfolded with an atmosphere unlike any other, lively, vibrant, and filled with energy at Jeffrey Cheah Hall. From the moment graduates and families began streaming into the venue, the air buzzed with excitement, pride, and anticipation for the future.
The event was thoughtfully divided into two sessions. The morning session featured graduates from the Diploma in Accounting (DACT), Diploma in Finance (DFIN), and Diploma in Business Administration (DBA), marking the achievements of students who had excelled in business acumen, financial literacy, and industry-driven competencies.
The afternoon session brought together an exciting mix of creative and tech-driven programmes: Diploma in Fashion Design Technology (DFDT), joining the graduation ceremony for the first time, alongside Diploma in Information Technology (DIIT), Diploma in Computer Science (DCSI), Diploma in Communication (DCOM), Diploma in Interactive New Media (DINM), and Diploma in Digital Creative Content (DDCC). Their presence added colour, creativity, and innovation to the day, showcasing the expanding scope of SDS.
The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of the Sunway Education Group, Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, whose opening address set an inspiring tone.
She reminded graduates that education is a lifelong journey, sharing, “As you step forward into the next chapter of your lives, remember that learning does not end here. It grows with you, challenges you, and equips you to lead with both heart and purpose.”
She also emphasised Sunway’s mission, adding, “You carry with you not just knowledge, but values, integrity, humility, and a commitment to making the world better than you found it.”
Adding to the excitement of the day was the presence of the newly appointed Director of Sunway Diploma Studies, Mr. Goh Wai Meng, marking his debut at the graduation ceremony. Stepping onto the stage for the first time in this role, he addressed the graduates with warmth and sincerity.
“Your success today is not measured only in grades or certificates. It is reflected in your ability to navigate challenges, think critically, and embrace change, skills that will serve you well in a world that is constantly evolving,” he added.
Echoing this belief, he also said that “this is what sets Sunway graduates apart: you are not just prepared for the future; you are equipped to shape it.” These words emphasized the pride and confidence the institution holds for its most dynamic cohort to date.
Throughout both sessions, the ceremony honoured students who had excelled academically, creatively, and in leadership. Special recognition awards were presented to outstanding individuals from each programme, celebrating achievements that went beyond classroom performance, innovative projects, impactful contributions, and exemplary dedication to their fields.
As each graduate crossed the stage, there was a visible swell of emotion among parents, family members, and lecturers. Proud parents stood tall, some with tears in their eyes, witnessing the peak of years of hard work and sacrifice. Lecturers, too, watched with immense pride, knowing they had guided, challenged, and supported these young individuals into becoming confident, capable graduates ready for the next chapter.
With heartfelt pride, Sunway College extends its warmest congratulations to the Class of 2025 and wishes them continued success in their future endeavours.
