Sunway Diploma Studies (SDS) soaring the skies at ESTE’25 Series 2: A showcase of innovation and excellence

Sunway College once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to academic excellence and forward-thinking innovation at the Engineering, Science & Technology Exhibition (ESTE'25 Series 2), held on 13 August 2025 at MAHSA University's Bandar Saujana Putra Campus.

Our Diploma in Information Technology (DIIT) students delivered an exceptional performance, presenting cutting-edge projects that not only impressed the judges but also embodied the event's theme: “Soaring the Skies: A Look into the Future of Innovation and Advancement.”

Hosted by MAHSA University, ESTE'25 brought together participants from public (IPTA) and private (IPTS) universities, including UTHM, UPM, Institute Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN), and various polytechnics, creating a vibrant and dynamic platform for collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing.

Organised by the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology at MAHSA University, ESTE'25 Series 2 served as a prestigious national stage for students to showcase their research, creativity, and technological breakthroughs. Sunway College's entries stood out for their originality, practical relevance, and strong execution, reflecting the institution's unwavering commitment to nurturing future-ready graduates equipped to lead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Gold Award, Most Innovative and Creative & Best Presenter - DefuBOT

DefuBOT, winner of both the Gold Award and the Most Innovative & Creative Award, is a cost-effective bomb disposal robot built on an Arduino-compatible ESP32 platform. Equipped with live video streaming, tank chassis mobility, and a servo-driven robotic arm, the robot enables remote monitoring and control in hazardous environments. Its practical design and strong potential for future enhancements such as AI integration and autonomous navigation set it apart as one of the most innovative projects at ESTE'25 Series 2. In addition to these, Wee Ye Yang earned the Best Presenter Award for his exceptional clarity and engaging delivery during the presentation.

Bronze Award - ParkEase

ParkEase is a smart mobile application designed to streamline urban parking. By integrating IoT sensors and license plate recognition, the app provides real-time slot availability, vehicle tracking, automated fee calculation, and direct communication with management. Its thoughtful approach to solving everyday urban challenges secured the team a Bronze Award.

Bronze Award - Quizify

Quizify is an AI-powered web platform that enhances student learning through intelligent quiz generation, note summarisation, and flashcard tools. Accessible via modern browsers, Quizify promotes deeper engagement and smarter study habits, earning recognition with a Bronze Award for its innovative use of AI in education.

Best Poster Award - DineSmart

DineSmart is an online restaurant reservation system that improves dining experiences through real-time table booking, advance meal ordering, and dynamic floor management. With features like interactive floorplans and visual table selection, DineSmart's intuitive design and practical application earned it the Best Poster Award, highlighting its potential to transform the hospitality industry.
